In the end, with these paranormal podcast shows it's guest dependent for me. If I'm interested in the guest (a Jacques Vallee, for example) then I'll tune in.

And that's exactly how it should be. I think Tim and Greg Bishop routinely lasso interesting guests. And Greg, to his credit, won't do a guest-driven show unless he has a good one to offer.

How Tim does it, I don't know. It must take an immense effort to line up quality guests week after week.

Of course, mileage varies on who qualifies as an interesting guest.

As another person banned from the Paracast forums, I certainly know how childish and arbitrary David Biedny can be.
And I think Gene is downplaying the capricious way David would ban a poster or close a thread. He really acted as a silly little dictator there.

You can imagine my amusement when Gene briefly banned David yesterday (after he called for a boycott of the show)!

All that said, there are things I like about David and I have always been a fan of the show (of which I must be one of the handful of people listening to their very 1st show way back when). I loved the chemistry of the two hosts.

As a skeptic, I know that some folks on this board are overstating the number of expose shows (like the Knell or Bassett implosions). There were really only a handful of these. Many many of the shows were with questionable folks and questionable stories. I remember one unchallenged husband/wife team who claimed (at least the man did, he never let his wife speak at all) that crop circles appeared in the USA because they (the couple) had moved here! I would have much more preferred to see more of the idiots like Greer and Horn get skewered but, as others have mentioned here, David seemed to have an arbitrary way of predetermining who was a friend or enemy.

Still it was fun to listen to most of the time.

I wish Gene well as he tries to move the show forward.

By the way, Jeremy, poor form on your response to Paul Kimball. He didn't deserve any of that.

Yes, David's post has been removed now and he is no longer banned but he asked people to boycott the show because Gene was running an ad for UFO magazine.

I don't think we were talking about the amount of expose shows so much a general hate filled and angry quality or at least that is what I was talking about. I know back when I listened, every week they had to go after someone or relive some previous expose show and how great they were at exposing. Well, mostly Biedny. I don't think I have ever heard a paracast show where he didn't bring up Greer or someone like that. I get it, that is their thing, but it gets pretty boring and very predictable. Especially since probably 99% of the people that listen to that show already know those things.

Of course, we know that he doesn't just abuse the woo-woos or hoaxers, his post at the forum (that is now removed) was pretty abusive towards Gene.

I am positive that Bill doesn't care one way or another whether the paracast does ads for UFO Mag.

Why delete the post?

Oh well, that show and those guys aren't worth another single second of thought.

Geez, now Gene has banned all mention of Biedny at the paracast forum. Not that I blame him, but people there might not like being told what they can't talk about. Of course, the Biedny fans will probably disappear anyhow - I don't think they will like a kinder and gentler paracast, if that occurs.

Seeing that message from Biedny actually makes me feel sorry for him. If the Paracast has really done that much damage to his livelihood, then it makes perfect sense for him to get out and stay out. That isn't a matter of acting nutty or self-aggrandizement, it's a matter of survival, plain and simple.

As for banning any further discussion of the subject, well, that's a little sketchy. I suppose it depends upon where Gene draws the line. If he's going to be heavy-handed about it, then all he will succeed in doing is destroying his own forums. I know how that story goes, I have seen it before, and it always ends the same way.

Time will tell, but this sure looks to me like a death spiral for the Paracast. I don't mean to say that with any malice, but like I said, this whole mess is following a very predictable pattern.

I guess Attack of the Rockoids wasn't exactly a best seller.
Did anyone on here read it?
