So, what does everyone think of the statements made by the Pope? Was he a fool for using the quote in the first place? Or a tool for apologizing for his remarks?

He is only a few centuries less retarded than the moslems.........from the people who brought us the inquisition and the crusades.........he put his slippered foot in it and now he has to live with it.........OH well

The thing that bothers me is that he wasn't smart enough to realize what outrage that comment would cause. His apology doesn't seem sincere, kind of like Mel Gibson apologizing to the Jews, once you say something like that it is hard to take it back.
