First swing and a miss from this strong TV series. The Zodiac episode was just scattershot, inconclusive and desperate. Felt like something that sounded good on paper, but when they tried to actually make it into an episode, it was an epic fail.

They tried to do too much and a lot of what they did was essentially useless. For instance, bringing the original police back to the scene of the crimes to look for new evidence ... 40 years later.

Going to the FBI cryptographer to look @ the cyphers and never returning to him again for the rest of the episode.

Doing all of that DNA evidence shit on the supposed "new suspect" only to reveal @ the end that the SF PD won't allow them to test that DNA against the Zodiac DNA.

Disappointing episode. Hopefully next week's Atlantis episode is better.

I watched part of this and wasn't impressed at all. When they had the Cryptographer on and he basically said "We believe there to be a message when you place line 1 by line 11" and....that was it. "We believe there to be a message". No clue what the message is, but hey...maybe it's there!

Yea, I kept waiting to hear why he thought there was a message there, or what it was.

It was overall a disappointing episode. Maybe they'll get a DNA comparison and revisit it in a follow up episode

Yes, the lack of update from the cryptographer was glaring.

Also, the police dispatcher lady and her segment was kind of lame. I find it hard to believe that she'd remember the voice that well 40 years later and, rather, find it probable that she was so traumatized that to relive it for the TV show really affected her.

The Zodiac investigators, especially the one who played her the tape, seemed kind of cheesy, almost desperate to force a square peg into a round hole in order to say that they solved the case.
