Really enjoyed the way letterman show ended, with a lot of old favorites showing up at the end.

Norm Macdonald was brilliant.
He has really seemed to have a resurgence since the whole SNL-rolling stone ranking where he got dissed as one of the worst SNL players.

I remember the Carson finale. My grandmother always watched him.


I didn't watch late night shows much over the years, thinking that Dave's best years were on NBC. But really enjoyed how things wrapped

Tv will be a lot worse now that Dave and Jon Stewart aren't on.

It truly is the end of an era. It's weird to think that the old veteran of late night is now Conan O'Brien and it gets scary when you realize he has been on for over 20 years. Time really does fly.

Like most people, I kind of checked out on Dave in recent years, but I got back into the show this year, since it was the end. There were real remnants of Carson in his style and you don't see that almost anywhere anymore.

I'm thinking of when Bill Murray was on the 2nd to last show and Dave slyly put the cap back on the vodka. Anyone else would have made a big show of it, but he just kind of deadpanned it. Great stuff.

If there was ever a WWE Network style thing of Late Show episodes, I'd throw some money towards it just to dig around in that huge archive.

there's a fantastic documentary on netflix about carson. letterman appears a few times. great watch.

lost touch with letterman as I grew older. loved him in the 80s. I remember when he had the big water fountain built into the set in front of his desk. i'm not talking about a drinking fountain. it was the kind of fountain you'd see in someone's yard where it'd shoot the water high in the air. every night he'd fill it with a different liquid and turn it on. loved it the night he topped it with milk. classic letterman silliness.
