10:: James Brown
9:: Stevie Wonder
8:: Otis Redding
7:: Bob Dylan
6:: Marvin Gaye
5:: John Lennon
4:: Sam Cooke
3:: Elvis
2:: Ray Charles
1:: Aretha Franklin

Once again, rolling stone fucks up the vast majority of the list. Elvis is fine where he is at #3, but Dylan and Lennon should easily be in the top two.

I say Lennon and Dylen have no place on that list as a singers. Songwriters, sure, ok, singers, no way.

Yes, I am confused by the designation of singers.

Rolling Stone lists have grown increasingly reaching and vague over the last few years.

All I'd need is a top 3 list.
Gene Simmons.
Paul Stanley.
Sammy Hagar.

I can somewhat understand Gene and Paul, but I don't ever see Sammy Hagar getting anywhere close to the top three, let alone the top fifteen.

:P Gene Simmons ? THE ONLY LIST HE BELONGS ON IS THE WORST SINGERS OF ALL TIME . Paul has a very good voice .
8) Karen Carpenter had the most beautiful ,pure voice i've ever heard :!: :(
Steve Perry,Geddy Lee,John Elefante and Steve Walsh of Kansas,Brad Delp of Boston ,Pat Benatar,Annie Wilson of Heart,
Dio,Robert Plant,Phil Collins,Freddie Mercury,the 2nd AC DC singer,forgot his name ? Brian Johnson :idea: 8)
IMHO,of course . My personal tastes only . There are many other wonderful singers :!: :mrgreen:

I don't think it listed anything in terms of criteria.

It's odd, really. The top ten for the 100 greatest artists of all time go as:

10::Ray Charles
9::Aretha Franklin
8::Little Richard
7::James Brown
6::Jimi Hendrix
5::Chuck Berry
4::The Rolling Stones
3::Elvis
2::Bob Dylan
1::The Beatles

Again, there's no criteria for the top ten at all. I think for the greatest singers of all time, they're basing it off of popularity, as they're doing with this one. I do kind of agree with this list, give or take an artist. I could think of several artists better then Aretha Franklin.
