Warren Ellis and Juan Jose Ryp are making you want to read comics again.

In a comics world that is anything but Marvelous, these two are making legendary stuff.

They're not putting a new spin on an old character.
They're not changing a 30-year character's origin.
They're not creating an alternate future history of a beloved character.
They're not putting out a sweet cover wrapped unreadable blugghh.
They're not doing what 85% of everyone else in comics is doing.

They're creating new heroes and new stories.
I thought Black Summer was great -- they're putting all the issues into one book for those who missed it -- but now comes NO HERO.

Ryp's art is epic.
And Ellis has done it it again, this time with a take on what price one would pay to be a superhero.

Wednesday can't come soon enough for me.

Finally, the end of what is IMHO the greatest comic since Watchmen.

Black Summer is indeed awesome. I've been re-reading a lot of Ellis's comics commentary stuff lately (Come in Alone, etc.) and I stand in awe of the amount of thought the man puts into his craft.

As much as I'm looking forward to Black Summer and No Hero, this is the one that's got me salivating...

I've ordered a slew of Garth Ennis graphic novels out of the latest Previews -- as well as the $40 Watchmen book by Dave Gibbons.

Ennis' latest project "The Crossed" looks pretty strong. I read elsewhere that it seemed to be too similar to something he'd already done, Black Gas, but since I didn't read that I'm not tainted.

Although, I did think it might have been a wee too similar to the 28 Day/28 Weeks movies.

Warren Ellis and Jacen Burrows doing Crossed. Wow.

This would make one helluva movie, although if they kept true to the comic it would have to be x-rated.

Ellis is one sick puppy, but his spin on a zombie tale is like no other. And the end of the latest issue, with the kids
