Looks like the NL Central is gonna have 3 teams in the playoffs. Ill be keeping an eye on the Dodgers and Red Sox series this weekend cuz they could be in the World Series. My BoA audio baseball picks still arent looking too good but if Detriot wins it all I think ill be in good shape. Its getting tough to follow baseball with football looming.

O's were eliminated last night. Yankees are just about done as well. Amazed by how the AL East was such a beast all season and then, aside from the Sox, completely faltered in the final month or so of the season.

Watch out cuz here comes the Indians. They have now won 8 straight and as of right now sit a half game ahead of Texas. Amazing what getting a manager like Francona will do in 1 year, he might get the manager of the year award.

Farrell should get manager of the year, but I wouldn't complain in Francona got it. It will be very interesting if it is Cleveland v. Boston in the ALDS this year.

I'm hoping for a chance for STL to give BOS payback for 2004.
Bring on the Sox. (insert trash talk here) Tim.

Tonight begins the showdown that the baseball gods demanded ... RSS' Detroit Tigers v. Binnall's Boston Red Sox. May the best team win!

Whatever happens, you can't have your shortstop back. Iglesias, the defensive wizard, is a tiger for the next 10 years.

A paradoxically tense and boring game today. Better luck tomorrow!

Boring? Tigers-Red Sox? Anything but boring.

From the side of a Red Sox fan, that game definitely wasn't boring. It was fucking maddening. Thank God they managed to get at least a hit. The indignity of being no hit in the playoffs was too much to imagine.

While I am very concerned at this point, I'm not panicked. This is a team that can get nearly no hit one night and then come back and score like 10 runs the next day. Plenty of baseball left in this series.

God damn, what a game! Talk about a wild swing of emotions. I think I lost my voice yelping with delight after that Ortiz grand slam. Probably woke up the whole neighborhood or, at least, the folks who weren't watching the game and were trying to sleep.

Let's hope those last two innings woke up the sleeping Sox bats and they have a better showing in the next few games.
