Really should have posted this much, much earlier, but the forum has been so dead this year, that I simply forgot to get things rolling on the prediction contest. Nonetheless, it's time for the 2015 post-season predictions from guests, listeners, forum members, and Binnall to be submitted. Same rules apply, with one new twist (see below). Good luck to all who enter.

For the killjoys who may want to enter but don't want to join the forum, you can email your picks to me here: tbinnall@hotmail.com

Some rules ...

    * You only get credit for exact picks (i.e. if you pick the Mets for NL East and they win NL Wildcard, you get no points for that). However, in the event of a tie, such transposed picks will be used as tiebreakers.

    * Presumptive deadline to enter is around Wednesday, April 15th ... but we're flexible about that for folks who wish to join in after hearing the baseball special.

    * Due to the logjam in the standings last year, we've added a new prediction to serve as additional fodder for breaking ties: final score of the All Star Game

And now ... make your picks ...

Quote:
AL East:
AL Central:
AL West:
AL Wildcard I:
AL Wildcard II:

NL East:
NL Central:
NL West:
NL Wildcard I:
NL Wildcard II:

AL Champions:
NL Champions:

World Series Champions:

Tiebreaker - Final Score of the All Star Game:

Notes:

* After 2009's stunning victory by usofe member MysteryMan, we instituted an additional prize: usofe champion wins the right to appear on the 2015 edition of the Baseball Special as a guest. Note, winner of this prize may opt out if they don't want to appear on the show. In the event of a mass tie, as in 2011, there shall be no on-air representative. Due to 2014's three-way tie for the championship, no usofe representative was chosen.

* So ... winner gets a shout-out on BoA:Audio, bragging rights for one year, and a spot in the BoA Hall of Champions. usofe winner gets a spot on the 2016 special. If the usofe winner's points exceed the BoA:Audio winner's points, that person will earn the sole claim to the BoA Baseball League title (after 2009's controversial Loren Coleman v. MM debate).

*Previous Champions:
2008 BoA:Audio Baseball Special -- Richard Dolan
2008 usofe -- redsonsuperman & smokincat
2009 BoA:Audio Baseball Special -- Loren Coleman
2009 usofe -- Mystery Man
2010 BoA:Audio Baseball Special -- Tim Binnall
2010 usofe -- LeagueMinimum
2011 BoA:Audio Baseball Special -- Jason Offutt
2012 BoA:Audio Baseball Special -- Paul Kimball
2012 usofe -- shotz90s
2013 BoA:Audio Baseball Special -- Greg Bishop
2013 useofe -- RedSonSuperman
2014 BoA:Audio Baseball Special -- Jason Offutt, RSS, Tim Binnall (3 way tie)

Good luck!

After barely any thought or consideration, but a lot of consternation and second thoughts, here are my 2015 predictions:

Quote:
AL East: Baltimore Orioles
AL Central: KC Royals
AL West: Seattle Mariners
AL Wildcard I: Boston Red Sox
AL Wildcard II: Detroit Tigers

NL East: Washington Nationals
NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals
NL West: LA Dodgers
NL Wildcard I: Pittsburgh Pirates
NL Wildcard II: San Diego Padres

AL Champions: Baltimore Orioles
NL Champions: LA Dodgers

World Series Champions: LA Dodgers

Tiebreaker - Final Score of the All Star Game: 5-2, National League wins

Some minor notes, since I didn't discuss any of these picks on the Baseball Special, I kind of just have this established 'big' NL team vibe this year and all the experts are backing Washington, which seems like it should jinx them, so I went with the Dodgers, but have the feeling it could easily be St. Louis. I'm kind of banking of the Dodgers putting it all together, finally, this year. I have a vision of Magic Johnson with the World Series trophy.

In the AL, I just went with the team I felt was the most well rounded and on the verge of getting over the cusp, which seems to be Baltimore. I recall, at the start of the playoffs last year, they had lost three of their top stars and still made it to the ALCS. Tigers are on the downswing, Sox are just getting back into the mix, KC will coast on their success but fall short in October, and the Mariners will be the darling of the postseason also fall victim to the 'happy to be here' vibe. Feel like I am sleeping on the A's and that is a mistake, but I've got to finalize the picks and that's that.

Will post the BoA:Audio guest entries as I go about editing their segments.

Well this year is very hard to predict. So many teams really loaded up for a playoff run, but I can't pick against those devil worshipping Cardinals. Every year I think this is the year they aren't gonna go to the playoffs and then sure shit they go to the World Series. Im just picking them to win it all hoping that they choke somewhere down the line. Should be a great year to be a baseball fan tho.

And the Cardinals are being investigated for hacking. If they are found guilty its sweet justice.
