[quote="binnall"]I heard that NY probably won't go after Lachey because they expect Wang to be back to full force next year and that is almost the same as a big free agent signing.

If Wang is as good as he was 2 years ago, I agree w. that. He's better than anyone on the free agent market.[/quote
Of course you agree, you're a Redsox fan !!!!
There is no chance in hell the Yankees are gonna stand pat !!!! I am hearing from a NY writer in the know, they will get either Halladay or Lachey !!! If the Sox get Halladay, they will surely get Lachey!!!! The Sox will improve and the Yanks will play keepin' up with the Jones' !!!! Can't wait for baseball !! Go Yankees !!!! 2 in a row is the motto !!!!!! HO HO HO !!!! Put a pitcher under the tree to go !!!!!!! :D  8)
Wrap him in a big red bow,and we'll be all ready for a return trip to the World Series show !!!

What do you think of this best pitcher list Tim ?

Don't get your hopes up just yet, the Red Sox are in the hunt for Halladay as well.

I hear they are offering Clay Buchholz as well as a top prospect pitcher.

Whomever the Blue Jays trade to will have to give up a few good-to-great prospects.

The prospect is supposedly very good, they say he could carry the rotation in 2012.

I'm fine with giving away Buchholz. He's been given plenty of time to develop and is still only hit-or-miss. He did have like 5 straight quality outings in September, so he'd probably be a valuable part of the rotation if he stayed, but in exchange for Halladay, I'm fine with that.

You'll have to give up more than that with the Yankees in the hunt .

Red Sox sign SS Marco Scutaro to a 2-year deal.

Not sure how I feel about this signing, but Scutaro had the 3rd best OBP among AL shortstops.

Sounds like the Spankees are working some kind of deal w. the Tigers to get Curtis Granderson.

Expect an exclamation point filled post from MM once news is official.

First Tiger Stadium goes down.
Then George Kell dies.
Then Ernie tells us he's got inoperable cancer and will die soon.
With no other offensive options in the midst of a playoff race, Magglio Ordonez bats enough times to kick in an option that pays him $18 million next season.
Then we find out Cabrera was drunk between key games at the end of the season.
Then the Tigers lose Game 163.
And now Curtis Granderson is traded to, of all the wretched fucking places on earth, the Yankees, where he won't even play his fucking natural position.

That's the final nail in the coffin. Baseball in Detroit is dead.

Yankees get Granderson !!!!!!!!!!
I am excited to get him, but,I hope they didn't give up too much . He's hurt the Yankees in the past !!!
I would like RSS's opinion of how good he is . Is he good, very good,or great ? He doesn't hit lefties, and has a low on -base percentage .
Tim, what do you think of Granderson and the impact he will have on the Yankees ?

Granderson is pretty good. I'd have to see what the Yankees gave up for him, but it was probably a good move for them, since I presume they needed a lead-off hitter w. Damon gone.

They gave up Austin Jackson,Coke and Ian Kennedy . They need another starter !!!! Don't you think his on-base is too low to lead off ?
