Great news. I'm a big fan of The Who and I expect it to be a killer performance.

I don't get all the pundits bitching about this, I'd rather The Who than Jay-Z or some other hip hop star that would make me change the channel.

Now if only the NFL would get Dylan to play a halftime show, I would be really thrilled.

the NFL just wants to be safe.

The irony is that they probably wouldn't have wanted bands like Who or the Rolling Stones to play back when their biggest hits were chart toppers. Back then, they might have been too unpredictable.

But now that they're old guys, they're great. And safe.

I forget when exactly, but a while back on coast there was someone saying that Obama had a connection with Shakira, and she would do the halftime show. I think it was a psychic, i wish I could remember who. Was like in September.

Without John and Keith, this is not the Who. If they billed themselves as Daltrey and Townsend, then that would be OK. Having seen the Ox in action there is no fragging way that this is the Who. This is like the Beatles touring without Lennon or Queen without Mercury. Not gonna happen....not gonna watch it.

That's true - but they may live to regret it depending on how much stink gets raised over Townshend's, ummmmm, research?

But I do have concerns about them. I worry someone with waaaay too much money realizes they are missing a bass player and a drummer - and then has an an epiphany the Beatles have left only a bass player and a drummer - then uses that money to put them in a studio in 2012 after which the resulting suck would end the world.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of The Who (not so much of the Beatles - though I do respect their music) but I just don't think they would gel if this were ever tried.

ere ever tried.[/size]

He seems to have moved past whatever the hell that whole thing was. He's been in several prevalent situations since then (Kennedy Center Honors, charity concerts, etc.) and basically nothing has been said of it.

I hope your right - but none of those things are as big a stage as the Super Bowl and that's sure to bring out the crazies against him, regardless of the validity of the claims.

Well, if you read up on what happen, it seems pretty clear that he was wronged by the authorities. They took all the hard drives out of his computers and found not a single byte of child pornography, then they accessed the files of the site that his credit card had been used on and found no evidence that he had downloaded anything. There was a four month investigation that turned up nothing at all. One of the later investigators even came out and said the charges were basically BS. It basically amounted to a whole bunch of nothing, which is why I think he recovered from it so quickly.

For the record, this was an atrocious performance. Really, quite a let down.

It seemed as though they hadn't rehearsed at all. I have seen them in concert and that is not their normal level of performance. Possibly there is some feuding going on again. :D

it was pointed out today that there are many children who were watching that performance yesterday wondering just what exactly a pinball wizard is.
