Supposedly a very short term contract. It's believed to be from January to April of 2010, although specifics are still vague.

Figured as much with the mention on RAW. Now the question is what the hell are they going to do with him? Maybe they can use him and cut out the guest host BS, just put him in charge of RAW for those months and off we go. I also figured they would bring him back to kind of shit on TNA's Jan. 4 Hogan reveal.

This isn't surprising. The be all and end all of Bret Hart's world is his ego. I'm sure that since his HoF induction and DVD have already been milked, he was sitting at home wondering if/when he'd get another chance to pat himself on the back on WWE TV.

Sorry to be so negative, but after reading Hart's book and watching his DVD, I was aghast at how enormous his ego is.

The book, "Ring of Hell" isn't real kind to the Hart family, either. (that's where I get the piss-stained carpet reference)

I read Ring of Hell and enjoyed some of the more salacious material, but I also had some problems with it, but I forget what they were now, lol.

Yeah, his ego is enormous and his family is wildly dysfunctional.

And it's because of that huge ego that I'm betting he doesn't even make it the full four months (assuming that's correct).

I know this was horrible of me to say then and believe to this day; but when Owen died the first thing I said was "Too bad it wasn't Bret instead". Owen was 10X the performer Bret was.

Primus with the win here. They announced last night that Bret Hart will be the guest host on the January 4th edition of Raw.

Actually looking forward to this head-to-head battle, though I'm afraid that TNA will fuck it all up and that WWE will simply crush them in the ratings, making this a non-event.

The word is that TNA supposedly knows they have no chance to compete ratings wise and are counting themselves lucky if they get their normal number. They're just doing it for exposure and brand recognition in hopes of long term benefit.

That said, if you noticed on Raw last night, the "We want Bret!" chants were almost exclusively coming from older male voices. He's been gone so long that the WWE's target audience has never actually seen him wrestle and I'd wager a good many of them don't really have a good idea about who he is. There are teenagers that never saw a Bret Hart match or were infants during the Montreal Screwjob. Yeah, it's the stuff of Wrestling Lore, but in the main it's something that kids in the audience were disconnected from.

We'll see, of course.

Well I’m really excited about the Hitman’s return. I just got into wresting around the time he went to WCW but watched all his WWE matches on video growing up. Me and my brothers will be staying up late to watch Raw live on Sky Sports Monday. Most of the time we just watch the repeat but this is something we always wanted to see but thought was impossible.

Well I must say for some reason I remember the Hitman having a bit more ring presence and charisma than he seemed to have Monday night.

Also, the gut was a bit big when the jacket came off.

Wow. I can't remember the last time I thought McMahon did a cool ring angle, but I love how he's shit all over Brett Hart tonight. Spit in his face, told him he had no charisma, told him he wasn't a hero in Canada or the U.S., and told him his dad didn't deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.

Based on Monday's RAW, Hart looked barely able to wrestle at all. I'm doubtful that he even has a match @ WM and may end up as a corner man w. Vince on the other side. You could tell that Batista was treating him as light as a feather.
