This happened like two weeks ago, but I didn't hear about it until earlier this weekend ...

Bit of a surprise, given that there don't seem any prominent openly gay people in esoterica (either skeptics or "believers.") Despite my differences of opinion w. Randi on probably everything having to do with the paranormal, I wish him the best and hope that his decision to come out brings him happiness and serenity.

I second that.

I have seen some other folks in these circles who activate the "gaydar" when I see or hear them speak. Not worth naming names -- I don't think it's a big deal at all, but of course many other people differ on that point -- but there definitely are a few who wouldn't surprise me if they were gay.
