Tokyo, Japan (CNN) -- The game begins with a teenage girl on a subway platform. She notices you are looking at her and asks, "Can I help you with something?"

That is when you, the player, can choose your method of assault.

With the click of your mouse, you can grope her and lift her skirt. Then you can follow her aboard the train, assaulting her sister and her mother.

As you continue to play, "friends" join in and in a series of graphic, interactive scenes, you can corner the women, rape them again and again.

The game allows you to even impregnate a girl and urge her to have an abortion. The reason behind your assault, explains the game, is that the teenage girl has accused you of molesting her on the train. The motive is revenge.

When does a video game go too far?

It is little wonder that the game, titled RapeLay, sparked international outrage from women's groups. Taina Bien-Aime helped yank the game off store shelves worldwide....

Yes thats right a video game where you can repeatedly rape girls then bring your friends in and rape entire families.

That is really sick! Of course, I find all senseless violence in video games sick, but that seems even worse than the norm.

I'm not defending this at all, but why did CNN bring this up now when the "game" was released in 2006?

But the sad part is Japan is such a sick fucking country. We like to pretend that they are all about honor and hard work (like we see in the movies, since everything most people know about other cultures comes from Hollywood) when they are all about stuff like Hentai (extreme cartoon porn, a lot of the time with what appear to be underage girls), tenticle rape hentai (some kind of monster with octopus like tenticles using the tenticles for sex with the characters) and even more sick this http://www.snopes.com/risque/kinky/panties.asp . Yeah, vending machines that people buy used panties from schoolgirls. Sometimes I don't think fatman and littleboy did a good enough job.

Yeah, RapeLay has been a running punchline in gaming/anime/comic/geek/whatever circles for YEARS now. It's kind of hilarious that CNN is freaking about it four years after everyone else stopped caring.



You're really painting with a broad brush, there. I can assure you that most salary men and school girls aren't playing rape simulators. The "otaku" culture of Japan IS diseased (Hideaki Anno once referred to it as self imposed autism), however, and since pop culture is the main cultural export we see, we get stuff like tentacle porn and hentai. Besides, America is just as decadent and fucked up. We're just more puritanical about it. Our comics and cartoons are hypesexualized power fantasies. We have a tremendous number of sexual offenders, tons of child rape and murder...I could go on.
