Street Fighter 2 was my favourite beat 'em up game when I was a Kid, Ken was my favourite character, who was yours?

Here is a link to a clip from Street Fighter II, "Street Fighter II V Evil Ryu vs Ken":

I was a Ken fan between the two, but really I was more into Mortal Kombat than Street Fighter.

Sub Zero was my favourite on that game, I didn't have it but one of my friends did.

I didn't really care, I picked either of the two.

Man, that brings back some memories. After work, we'd meet up at the local 7-11 and play from 10-11pm until 2-3am every night. For a while there we'd beat the snot out of people using just about any character after we tired of Ken & Ryu.

I was only able to finish the game with Ryu and Chun Li.

The East Indian guy with the extendable appendages was cool, but virtually impossible to control. I usually went with Ryu. Oh Man, the hours I wasted on that game...

Dhalsim (or something like that) wasn't it?

I always hated playing my brother in SFII, he would always be Blanca and do that cheap jack electric charge deal the entire match.

Was it just me or when they made the movie (only time I will ever mention it again, I swear) were you guys like me and suprised that Guile was a good guy? I always thought he was one of the bad guys based on the game.

Not really they needed an American hero to fight against the evil Russian, Ryu the hero of the game came from Japan.

In the Street Fighter storyline Guile was always a good guy, he just looked really pissed off a lot of the time. I was sort of shocked that they made him such a central figure, though.

And I used Ken more than Ryu. Ken had better and more effective shoryuken variants.

Maybe we need an anime section, anyone got clips of what they thought were good moments from any anime series.

Not to threadjack, but maybe this could be a seperate topic.

I HATE ANIME.
I don't know what it is, but I've never liked any of these cartoons.
And I've given them a chance. I just hate them. I can't even put my finger on what it is about them. But I hate them.

Am I alone?
Or is there an anti-anime army out there?

It depends on the anime with me, but I can't say I am a huge expert.

The following anime are acceptable:

-Neon Genesis Evangelion
-Cowboy Bebop
-Akira
-Ghost in the Shell
-Gundam (0079 timeline)
-Macross/Robotech
-Blackjack
-Trigun

The rest is crap.

There's a huge anti-anime contingent out there. Mostly because of how repulsively annoying the U.S. fandom has become.

I like some anime that rises above it being a "genre" and treats it as just another method to tell a story. Stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Studio Ghibli movies, Neon Genesis Evangelion etc. are awesome. Unfortunately, these great works are decidedly in the minority when compared to garbage like Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. And the U.S. anime fanbase has been completey co-opted by mental midgets that would rather talk about the continuity of Pokemon while screaming "GLOMP OMG!" and dressing in goofy costumes. It's beyond help at this point.
