Ok, who else is playing GTA IV?

I haven't had it or played it very long (just picked it up this morning), but so far it seems like the same GTA since 3. I wonder when all the advancements to gaming kind that all the reviewers are talking about come in?

I only played around with it for a little while at a friends, but aside from more "depth" (most of which is supeficial at best. You can watch TV in the game. Wow.), the obvious graphical ehancements, and slightly more realististic interactions, it's pretty much the same formula seen in III, Vice City, and San Andreas just amped up. Lots of bells and whistles, but no real innovation.

All the advancements got shelved, because end game cometh..

Economic slaves don't need the latest CGI games.

But if you have some money you can get one of these little droids.

I'm going to say GTA IV is probably the funniest game I've played. There are some pretty clever conversations and random pedestrian sayings.

Not too crazy about the driving aspects, but then again, i'm used to the Saints Row driving which blows GTA's out of the water.

It's still a good game, don't get me wrong. I just think the hype does overshadow the quality just a bit.

This is all music to my ears as I am a (that's right, PROUD) Wii owner and was tempted to forgo the student loan payments to buy a PS3 just for Grand Theft Auto.

But it seems nothing has beaten Vice City for style, funny, and cool yet so...I'll stay.

I was sort of shocked how quickly GTA IV seemed to vanish from the gamer zeitgeist. I don't hear people talk about it at all anymore.

It's still selling well, but it's also being resold just as quick by other people. It seems that people are awed at first by it then quickly developing a "meh" attitude toward it.

Then again, lately it seems that we have the "game of the year of the week" coming out.

I find myself becoming more and more bored with gaming, to be honest. Pretty looking sequels with the depth of a puddle*. It gets old after a while.

*Sorry, but being able to watch TV in a video game is not depth.

I hear you. I've fallen in love with an XBL game called Space Giraffe, just because it is something different. If you haven't played it, download the demo, it's like what if Timothy Leary designed Tempest.

That being said, I am really interested to see how Star Wars and Ghostbusters come out. Especially Ghostbusters. I've always wanted a proton pack. I will buy another Wii if their version has a replica one that can be used with the Wiimote LOL.

One more thing about GTA IV.

My favorite part of the last GTA games have been the Talk Radio stations while driving. WTF happened? They went from not hearing the same thing twice in ten hours to hearing the same things repeated in a 20 minute span?

I still need to start my game. At this point, I've only watched others play.
