This 'contest' has no bearing on the official BoA Baseball League Predictions contest, etc.

The match-ups:

Quote:
ALDS
Tampa Bay Rays v. Texas Rangers
Minnesota Twins v. NY Yankees

NLDS
Philadelphia v. Cincinnatti
SF Giants v. Atlanta Braves

My picks:

Tampa Bay Rays over Texas Rangers
NY Yankees over Minnesota
Philly over Cincinnati
Giants over Braves

Tampa Bay Rays over NY Yankees
Philly over SF Giants

Philly over Tampa Bay Rays

Despite my picks, I'd like to see something unpredictable like a Rangers, Reds, Braves, or Giants run deep or all the way.

Don't you people ever get tired on beating on the hapless Twins? Those poor bastards.

Well, I'm loving the Rays implosion. I'm sure their 35 fans are crying their eyes out.

Jesus, why did I start a Playoff thread if we are all just going to discuss them in MM's twisted Spankee love thread?

Anyway, that fucking game tonight was maddening to watch. Right after the announcers are bragging about TX leaving their starting pitcher in for the 8th, shit goes haywire. And then the Rangers totally wilted under the pressure of trying to hold off the Yankee rally. Unbelievable.

I'm starting to think the Rays would have stood a better chance against NY now. Sigh.

I swear that if the Yankees win it all yet again, I will never watch another fucking MLB game ever again. Ever. Not an empty threat. To have one team so completely dominate every facet of your sport like that means that your sport is BROKEN.

Did the Rangers bullpen shit the bed? Yeah. But the New York Yankees are why I hardly even give a shit about baseball anymore. The shadow they cast is so ridiculous that is saps any joy or entertainment for me. Combine that with the entitled, gloating New York fans (and serioiusly, how the fuck do Yankees homers DARE try to play the "We're the underdog and we'll show you!" card? heard that shit on the radio all over the place tonight.) Here's hoping they fall and fall hard. So,so tired of that goddamn city and team.

Ah, that's more like it. Today, your Spankees were exposed as the overpaid frauds that they are, MM ! The Yankees are so lucky to have won Friday night, because they would have been royally screwed going back to New York if they were down 0-2 and facing Cliff Lee.

Bit of a surprise in the NLCS game, what with the Giants winning, but I'm expecting that one to go to 5 or 6 games too.

Can't complain about the playoffs this year, each series so far has been exciting, except for the Yankees/Twins massacre.

Definitely good to see the Yankees go down today. On sports talk last night there were some people wanting to push the panic button and start Cliff Lee in Game 2. Of course, sports talk radio is always full of chicken littles. Rangers are in good position. Split 1-1 at home and have Lee for Game 3. Hopefully they go up 2-1.

Haha!

That was a thing of beauty. Especially after Texas opened it up at the end.

2-1!

Ha, ha, ha ... two hits ?! Two feeble hits from the vaunted Spankee offense.

I hope AJ Burnett pitches tomorrow and gets shelled for 3 innings before being pulled and crying in the dugout.

In all seriousness, the Yankees haven't looked very good all series. Texas really seems to have their number, but it's not over yet.
