Just set my DVR in time.

Surprised to see that this is a series, rather than a one-off special. Not sure how many episodes there are, but I'm wondering how they managed to stretch it into a series.

I presume the Michigan collective have something to do with the series, since they own the island.

Bingo. 10 minutes in and I'm hooked. Seems very common sense in their approach. . Not wildly sensational.

Love this show.
Love the whole brother connection and trying to answer a mystery they've thought about since childhood. Wish we all had that kind of money to throw around, eh?

minor quibbles with the show: Wasn't real happy about the video footage disappearing. A little reality TV unreality there. There's no way they wouldn't go back and reshoot the footage again, not when you're investing big money like they are.

Same feeling with the search for the coconut on the beach (although they did find the cocount!!) If high tide is coming in today, then try again tomorrow at low tide. Don't make this like they've got 5 minute to find the coconut or they will never, ever find it.
Also made me wonder if the coconut wasn't all that hard to find in the first place. was that just a tv reality show moment.

Which takes me to a BoA Live request.
Would love an update with former BoA guest Danny Hennigar (or someone else well schooled in Oak
Island who can either call B.S. on things happening in the show OR back up that what how they're going about their search is what one would expect; and would love to hear Danny's take on the locals that are helping the brothers anyway).
The Hennigar show remains one of my all-time favorite BoAs and I plan on relistening to it tonight.

I'm hoping once TB sees this show, he'll get nostalgic from his trek to the island.
(Bucket list! -- those were the days 8) 8) 8) )

If I had a million dollars I would blow it all on the Oak Island mystery.

I'm a total sloppy for this show.

Alas, there they go again, not exactly doing what they should be doing. Drain the swamp. Completely. Don't drain half of it. Drain that shit dry.

I watch this show like I used to watch Lost. Immediately watching it a second time right after the first run though.

Anyone know if/when season 2 will be? I caught most episodes on rerun and it was a pretty intriguing show.

Season 2 started last week. Thankfully I had DVR set for it on accident.

God bless the Lagina brothers for filming all of this.

Anything of note to report? (I cut the cord some months ago and haven't bothered trying to find access to current programming.)

they are in the midst of season 2, which has been pretty interesting. just watched the latest episode last night. new shows on tuesday nights.

they've found a couple of really old coins.

they also think they might have hit a corner of the vault -- which netted a clay, wood, concerete mix from one drilling.

I would say the most frustrating thing to me is they kind of bounce around too much like it's a survey show. I would have thought they would drill in every direction once they suspected they were on the vault -- but then they are at the same time now emptying the swamp.
of course, the fact that someone is actually emptying the swamp is pretty interesting.

you can say they're hitting bits and pieces of all the mysterious oak island things and not really accomplishing much.

but, i like the show because they're actually showing you all the different spots around the island that I've been reading about for the past several years.

and the lagina brothers seem to be like normal guys who just happen to have the money to waste to chase their boyhood dreams. how can you not support that?

I would love to hear a BoA with the Lagina brothers. But, i doubt they're on podcast circuit and B) TB has pretty much said he has done everything he wants to do with Oak Island.

I respect TB's position, even though I think there's a lot more to discuss given two years of recent exploration.

They sent divers down 10x.

Say what you want about the show, they have shown/explored every relevant angle/site on the island in an attempt to get more info.

Really hope they have enough cash for a third season.
